Due to the
inherent variables in crafting a custom
guitar or bass, such as wood selection,
electronics desired and method of
construction, standard pricing is
typically not available. However, as a
guide, the cost for a custom guitar
based on the DGW “WB” model will start
at $1,350. This price is based on:
Body:
- Woods – One-piece mahogany, swamp
ash or soft maple.
- Finish – Hand-rubbed gloss acrylic
lacquer, clear natural finish or one
color aniline stain.
- Configuration – Standard “WB”
shape with flat top and “belly” carve,
contoured heel in treble cutaway to
allow greater ease of access to upper
frets, and rear electronics cavity
with wood electronics cavity cover to
match body wood.
Neck:
- Scale Length – Customer
preference.
- Fretboard – Oiled Indian rosewood,
21 frets, white MOP face / side dot
inlays (single all positions except
for double at 12th fret), bone nut.
Customer preference radius and
fretwire.
- Wood – Quartersawn mahogany or
hard maple. Customer preference of
profile.
- Truss rod – Double-acting,
adjustment at headstock or heel.
- Truss rod cover – Wood finished to
match headstock face.
- Finish – Hand-rubbed acrylic
lacquer, gloss headstock face, satin
neck back, gold DGW logo on headstock
face. Customer preference of stain to
match body or clear finish.
- Configuration – Bolt-on with
ferrules (no plate).
Electronics:
- Pickup – Three Lace “Original
Sensor”, choice of red, blue, silver
or gold in any combination or
position.
- Controls – One volume and one
tone, with three-position toggle
switch (bridge, bridge / middle,
neck).
- Jack – Side jack with
“Electromatic” jack ferrule.
Hardware:
- Tuning Machines – Sperzel satin
chrome locking.
- Bridge – Chrome Gotoh hard-tail
with through-body string anchoring to
chrome ferrules.
- Knobs – Chrome metal knurled dome.
- Strap Buttons – Chrome with felt
pad.
Other:
- Stringing – Customer option
manufacturer and gauge.
- Case – Gig bag.
- Insured delivery by FedEx Ground
within the continental United States.
Options (additional cost): – Although
the options are limited only by your
imagination, the following are those
that are most commonly asked-for:
- Set neck – $200
- Binding (front only) – Body -
$300, headstock or fretboard - $100
each. Body binding two-ply .020 black
/ .060 white, fretboard .040 white,
headstock .040 black / white.
- Figured Wood Overlay – 5A flamed
maple body with matching headstock
face - $200.
